Applicability:

Raising Illinois is made up of several member organizations. You can see a partial list of organizations here. The site is operated on behalf of all the members by Start Early. This privacy policy describes only the information collection and use practices on the Raising Illinois website and all other platforms directly affiliated with Raising Illinois. It does not apply to other Start Early sites. It also does not apply to the information collection and use practices of the member organizations.   

What Information Is Collected On This Site:

The Raising Illinois website collects contact information from you. This includes your name, zip code and email address. The site also collects website usage information. This might include information about your browser and actions you take on this site. We may also collect what site you came from or what site you visit when you leave us. We may collect your IP address or device identifier.  

How Information Is Used:

Start Early, on behalf of its member organizations, will use your information in the following ways: 

  • To communicate with you. For example, if you sign up to get news from us, we will send you information about Raising Illinois. We may also use information to communicate with you about our policies and terms. 
  • To provide and improve our services and website. Your information may be used to customize your experience on this website. It may also be used to optimize the services we or our members provide. 
  • For security purposes. We may use information to protect our company and our customers. We also use information to protect our websites and apps. 
  • We or our members may use information for other purposes as permitted by law or as may be disclosed to you.  

How Information Is Collected:

  • We collect information directly from you. This includes if you sign up to get involved or learn about becoming a member.  
  • We collect information passively. We collect information about users over time and across different websites and apps. We also work with third parties that collect personal information this way. We may use several common tracking tools to collect information. Tracking tools include browser cookies and web beacons. We may work with others to gather information on our platforms and elsewhere. We may do this on our websites and in emails that we send to you.

We combine information that we have collected across other third-party sites. We combine information across devices, such as computers and mobile devices.   • We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf. We may share information with trusted vendors. We may also share information with vendors who help us host and operate the site. This includes vendors who help us send emails. 
  • We share information with our partners. These may include our member organizations.  
  • We will share information if we think we have to in order to comply with the law or to protect ourselves. We will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena or if a government agency or investigatory body requests it. We may share information if we are investigating potential fraud. 
  • We may share information with any successor to the Raising Illinois site. If a new entity takes over operation of the Raising Illinois website, we will provide them with your information as part of the transfer. If all or part of our business was sold, we would also share your information as part of that transaction. We would also do this in the event of a merger, acquisition or bankruptcy. 
  • We may share information for other reasons we may describe to you or as permitted by law.
